Color images contain both color and gradation. A color photograph is one such example. |
Gray-scale images contain gradation but no color (only white, black and gray). A black-and-white photograph is a gray-scale image. |
Binary images contain no color or gradation. They are generally black and white. They are also called monochrome bitmaps. |
